I developed a surprising brand crush last season on UK designer Paul Smith. Its not because he's into cycling or because he is a living icon who has more than withstood the changing tides of fashion. Its because his SS16 collection really impressed me because i love those bags! I ruthlessly believe that every designer brand is only as good as its last collection.
The SS16 Paul Smith collection is inspired by "a gentle rebellion against sartorial tradition". I believe that Paul Smith's anti-sartorial sartorial look provides a fresh contrast to modern tailoring. There is something a little stationery-like about the portfolio clutches and the wrap around leather fixings. I am a sucker for stationery, so this collection really appeals to me. The designs are confident, timeless, beautiful and the citrus colours are literally an injection of flavor against the neutral palette of the apparel.
